We fill our homes with things that we love. We choose colours and items that we connect with, that maximise space, light, contrast and make us feel good.
Often we may have a piece of furniture that has been handed down to us through generations, loved and used by many. There is something undeniably quite special about that.
Furniture was undoubtedly made with far more care and attention a few decades ago, and therefore lasts much longer than much of today’s factory made items.
A lot of ‘fast furniture’ as we know can have a very limited lifespan and often end up landfill broken or unwanted.
Approximately 22 million pieces of furniture are being discarded on a yearly basis. Quite a staggering figure.
